Going Dark Theatrical Services is a new company formed in 2018 by business partners Jack and Dave.
Jack is a freelance technician who works across many theatres and venues in Birmingham. He has a sound knowledge of theatrical sound and lighting including EOS desks and software. Dave is a teacher in a West Midlands secondary school and has a number of years experience in designing lighting for youth and dance shows plus many adult amateur dramatics organisations. Going Dark has been formed due to the fabulous feedback received from many companies that Jack and Dave have worked and volunteered for together.
We aim to provide a bespoke technical service for live theatre from attending the initial rehearsal stage and helping your company visualise their ideas through to taking control of all the technical needs for you at your chosen theatre from the ‘get in’ to the ‘get out’. We are also happy to quote on additional lighting, sound, effects equipment from our extensive hire stock should you want to add some flair to your show.
We offer a specialist workshop facility to all school’s and colleges in the technical areas of stage craft and lighting design. Our courses can be tailored to half a day or a full day with teaching resources provided to meet your key stage 4 or 5 specification. We also provide a light hearted workshop to youth theatre groups on light and sound.
No matter how small or big the job is we guarantee a friendly, supportive and knowledgeable service, please see our reviews from the many satisfied organisations we work with.
We look forward to working with you
Jack and Dave
